My name is Kamélia Faraj, and I am a member of the Ordre des diététistes nutritionnistes du Québec (ODNQ). I also hold a RAMQ prescriber number authorizing me to perform certain reserved nutrition-related activities. Among other responsibilities, I can prescribe laboratory tests, nutritional formulas, nutrients, and blood glucose monitoring supplies following a medical prescription and when clinically indicated. I am also authorized to adjust prescribed insulin and antidiabetic medications.
I hold bachelor's degrees in both Psychology and Nutrition, as well as a master's degree in Nutrition. Throughout my studies, I developed a deep understanding of the close relationship between psychology and nutrition. I learned that helping someone make lasting dietary changes requires more than nutritional knowledge—it also involves understanding their motivations, challenges, habits, and environment.
To date, I have worked in both research and clinical settings. I have delivered presentations on the relationship between nutrition and mental health, authored several nutrition-related articles, and contributed to the writing of a book on the subject. Since 2019, I have been working in private practice and have helped more than one hundred individuals achieve their long-term health goals, particularly in weight management, digestive health, and the improvement and prevention of medical conditions such as diabetes, cholesterol, hypertension, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
